Profile:
David Richards (b. 1981), associate director GROSS. MAX. graduated from Edinburgh College of Art. David has worked at GROSS. MAX. for twenty years and has extensive experience as lead landscape architect for a range of complex multidisciplinary projects both in the U.K and abroad. David has collaborated on numerous projects with Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Zaha Hadid and Grimshaw. David has specific expertise in urban tree planting and worked on several botanic gardens, airports and university campus both in UK and abroad. At Wembley he was lead designer for the avenue of champion trees of the Northern Hemisphere lining up along Olympic Way leading up to Wembley National Stadium. His keen interest in cartography shows in his exquisite sense of mapping and diagrams including mapping for the London Green Grid and Heathrow Expansion.
David is a keen paraglider and compulsive traveler which expeditions to Mount Everest, Kilimanjaro and Ascension Island. For GROSS. MAX David worked on projects in China, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, UAE, Egypt and most recent, in Albania. David has lectured across the U.K. and Europe and has taught at various institutions including Harvard GSD, University of Edinburgh, Kingston University London. David is member of The Royal Geographical Society.
