Eelco Hooftman (b.1960), co-founder of GROSS. MAX. Landscape Architects graduated from the University of Agriculture Wageningen, The Netherlands. Eelco integrates theory and practice of landscape architecture in an extensive output of (international) projects and award-winning competitions. Eelco moved to the United Kingdom in 1990.
Eelco Hooftman has an international reputation as academic, publicist, invited speaker and committee member including Reader at Edinburgh College of Art and visiting professor at GSD Harvard (2008-2017). He delivered over 100 public lectures in 20+ counties spread over 5 continents.
Eelco leads the conceptual approach and design development at GROSS. MAX. He has over 30 years of experience working on key strategic development projects and landscape plans throughout the world. His wide-ranging experience -both as strategic planner and award-winning designer of innovative landscapes brings a strong landscape leadership at the very core of multidisciplinary project teams.
Eelco is elect member of the Royal Scottish Academy of Art and Architecture.
