Eden Project Dundee

The landscape of Eden Project Dundee is not a separate entity but intrinsically interwoven in the overall project narrative and the very embodiment of Eden Project Dundee as a catalyst of change. It will grow and evolve over time - a movable feast - expressing the regenerative power of nature as a green machine to support resilient living within a challenging urban context. The former Gas Work site will become an Earth Work – and its very own process of transformation will become an outdoor laboratory celebrated in a Festival of Regeneration.

The landscape masterplan is inspired by the context of the site to become a hotspot of biodiversity, expressing the former shoreline, and tracing a palimpsest of former site works. The site is organised as a stratified landscape expressing the various notions of nature as either wilderness, productive landscape or cultivated garden. The visitor is invited on a journey through a variety of distinctive habitats including wildflower meadows, wetlands, woodlands, productive gardens, and emerging self-seeding wilderness. The site becomes a field of experiment for restoring natural systems in cities
